Every Boozy Bag is designed and made in Rheenendal, just outside Knysna on South Africa’s Garden Route.
The business is intentionally local and hands-on, with each bag produced and finished with care.
As The Boozy Bag Co. grows, so does the vision: to create even more local work and skills-based opportunities within the surrounding community.
Meet the Maker
The Boozy Bag Co. is the latest venture from founder Janine Vorster, whose professional life has been spent creating, growing and running small South African businesses.
Her experience spans more than two decades and includes owning three women’s fashion boutiques, lifestyle shops, an art gallery and picture-framing studio, working as an international buyer, developing products, building brands and handling the many creative and commercial demands that come with working for yourself.
Along the way, she has acquired a fairly unreasonable number of additional skills—branding, merchandising, photography, websites, marketing, sewing and a masters degree in overthinking among them.
The Boozy Bag Co. brings those worlds together: creativity with practicality, original ideas with commercial experience, and local production with a healthy refusal to make boring things.
Every part of the brand has been developed hands-on, from the original concept and artwork to the product construction, photography, website and marketing.
It turns out that creating a better way to give a bottle is both serious business and enormous fun.
